AB-1103 Highlights

Let Greener Dawn's team of experts orchestrate the AB-1103 compliance process for your asset.

  • Beginning January 1st, 2011, the following commercial buildings will be REQUIRED to disclose the building's energy efficiency rating in a sale, lease, or financing:
  • All Non-Residential buildings 50,000 square feet or larger
  • Solely owner occupied buildings of any size
  • This rating will be based on the system developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star Portfolio Manager.
  • Energy Star's benchmarking system rates buildings on a scale from 1 to 100. The scale rates a given building against similar buildings within its class. The system adjusts for climate but not for age (i.e. a building in Chicago will not be compared to a building in San Diego for heat use).
  • Properties that receive a score of 75 or above are eligible to be recognized as an ENERGY STAR labeled Building.
  • Energy Star Statement of Energy Performance
