TEAM BIOSCourtland Weisleder, PresidentCourtland Weisleder is the founder of Greener Dawn, Inc., Greener Dawn Investment Group, and Greener Dawn Financial Corp. His passion for alternative energy, renewable energy, and clean technology led him to define and build a vision for the future. He first became immersed in this field while studying at the University of San Diego in the Masters of Science in Real Estate program. Academic research as well as industry professionals contributed to his thirst for green knowledge and hunger to build his vision. He attends numerous conferences, seminars, and trade group events and actively contributes in the clean tech sector. He is on the Sustainability Committee of the San Diego Downtown Partnership, the Board of Directors of Clean Tech San Diego, and the Board of Directors of the San Diego Green Chamber of Commerce. Prior to founding Greener Dawn, Courtland was a founder of Interactive Financial Marketing Group in Richmond, Virginia. The company specializes in online lead generation for automobile dealers nationwide. Under Courtland's leadership, the company grew from four employees to over 120 in five years. Courtland also developed numerous divisions at the firm leading to a sale of the company to a large VA conglomerate in June 2007. He started his career at Union Bank of Switzerland at their US headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut as a NASDAQ trader. In August 2000, he began work at Knight Securities as a NASDAQ market maker, holding this position until he left in 2002 to build Interactive Financial Marketing Group. Courtland holds a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia. He was named All Tournament on UVA's 1999 National Championship lacrosse team. He holds a Master's of Science in Real Estate from the University of San Diego. Courtland holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 Securities licenses. Bill Walton, Green AmbassadorBill Walton is excited to be a key member of one of the fastest growing clean tech companies in San Diego. He is working closely with Greener Dawn as their Green Ambassador helping create corporate alliances. Bill Walton's professional career began when he was the number one overall pick in the 1974 NBA Draft by the Portland Trailblazers. He was a member of their championship team in 1977. Nine years later he earned another championship title, this time with the Boston Celtics in 1986. Bill's accolades include the NBA's Most Valuable Player, 1978; all-NBA First Team, 1978; NBA All-Star Team, 1977 and 1978; NBA Playoff's MVP, 1977; all-NBA second team, 1977; winner of the NBA Sixth Man Award, 1986. In 1993, Walton was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. In 1997, Walton was inducted into the National High School Sports Hall of Fame. He remains active in basketball through clinics, camps, coaching, and television commentary. In 1979 Walton received an Emmy for his work on an environmental documentary filmed on location in the Philippines. Bill started his broadcasting career in 1990 as an analyst for the then Prime Ticket Network. Walton worked for CBS Sports in the early 90's during the NCAA Final Four and then for NBC for many years, including work on the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Summer Olympic Games. Over the last 15 years he has worked for ABC, ESPN, NBC, CBS, Fox, MSNBC, Turner Sports, KCAL, and the NBA. Walton is also involved in numerous internet ventures providing content and business acumen. In 2002, he was hired as the lead analyst for ESPN/ABC's coverage of the NBA. He is also a regular contributor to ESPN.com, NBA.com, ESPN The Magazine, and ESPN Radio. For his television broadcasting work, Walton has been nominated for several Emmy awards and in 2001 won an Emmy for best live sports television broadcast. In 2009, Walton was named one of the top 50 broadcasters of all time by the American Sportscasters Association. Bill is currently the Executive Director of CONNECT's Sports and Entertainment group. He graduated with honors with a B.A. in History. Walton currently resides in his hometown of San Diego with his wife Lori. They are the proud parents of four sons: Adam, Nathan, Luke and Chris. Fan Ding, Strategic Consultant, LEED GAFan is a Strategic Consultant for Greener Dawn Inc. He helps manage the Information Technology, Operations, and Infrastructure needs of the business. He has a passion for renewable energy and the green companies that will transform the world. Fan has extensive research experience, having worked at the Federal Reserve Bank and a Silicon Valley management consulting firm. His work at the Federal Reserve has led to publications that have influenced Federal Open Market Committee meetings.Fan holds a B.A. in Physics and Economics at the University of Pennsylvania. He also received a Master's degree in International Relations at the University of California, San Diego, specializing in international management with a China region focus. CommercialEaston Gardner, Director of Commercial Advisory, LEED APEaston Gardner is Director of the Commercial Advisory Division at Greener Dawn. As a LEED Consultant and Project Manager, she works directly with owners, tenants, property managers, and project teams to develop a Roadmap to Sustainability, which strategically positions buildings, portfolios of assets, and companies to take advantage of opportunities to reduce operating expenses, increase value, and better our environment. Prior to joining Greener Dawn, Easton reviewed and managed LEED Projects using the Commercial Interiors (CI), New Construction (NC) and Existing Buildings, Operations and Maintenance (EBOM) Rating Systems. She also has extensive experience benchmarking and evaluating building performance through Energy Star. With great respect for nature and a true passion for sustainability, Easton can help navigate the multi-faceted benefits of going green. Prior to becoming a LEED Consultant, Easton worked for the US Forest Service, stationed in the White River National Forest, and as a licensed real estate agent for real estate brokers and developers in Arizona. Easton is an active member of the USGBC San Diego Chapter, holding the role of Co-Chair to the Education Committee and Steering Committee. She holds a B.S. in Entrepreneurship and Business Management from Arizona State University, W.P. Carey School of Business. Justin Clark, Engineering Specialist, LEED APJustin Clark is an Engineering Specialist in the Commercial Advisory Division at Greener Dawn specializing in energy auditing and analysis and provides technical support to the team. Justin works with building owners and operators to locate and implement energy savings measures. Prior to working with Greener Dawn, Justin managed the commissioning process for multiple LEED Projects. He also developed Measurement & Verification Plans and performed walk-through assessments for Energy Star Verification. Justin is an Engineer-in-Training working toward licensure as a Professional Engineer. He is also a LEED AP and a Qualified Commissioning Professional (QCxP). Justin holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, specializing in environmental systems. Justin uses his engineering and environmental systems background along with his passion for sustainability and work experience in green building energy systems to support Greener Dawn's clients and staff. Thomas Gotfredson, LEED Consultant, LEED APThomas Gotfredson is an Energy Star Portfolio Management Specialist in the Commercial Advisory Division at Greener Dawn. Thomas specializes in analyzing building energy use, so that he can work with building owners and operators to implement energy saving measures. Thomas manages Greener Dawns' benchmarking efforts through Energy Star Portfolio Manager. He works with building staff and owners to manage their properties' Energy Star accounts in accordance with AB 1103 and LEED regulations. He has also managed LEED projects for multiple clients as a LEEP AP. Thomas' enthusiasm for energy conservation helps him promote environmentally conscious building solutions for the Commercial Division at Greener Dawn. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a concentration in Marketing from Fordham University. ResidentialDoug Donovan, Director of Residential ServicesDoug Donovan brings a unique combination of entrepreneurial know-how and business fundamentals to Greener Dawn. With a background which includes launching three start-ups ventures, he thrives on the energy of young companies. Doug brings a financial background developed over three years in equity research at investment bank, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (now CSFB) and three years as the Chief Financial Officer at Blue Scope, Inc. Doug is also currently a partner at Echo Mountain, a Colorado ski resort which he developed and managed from 2004 to 2008. Doug holds a BA from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Dadla Ponizil, Chief Building ScientistDadla Ponizil is recognized as a leading building performance expert and educator in the San Diego region. Dadla's experience in whole-home energy evaluations gives him an expert eye for recognizing opportunities for cost-effective retrofits. He has presented workshops at the California Center for Sustainable Energy, the Solana Beach Building and Planning department, and homeowner and realtor groups. Dadla is currently the building performance instructor at SDSU. Dadla holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCSD and a B.A. from UCLA. He serves on the Encinitas Environmental Advisory Commission and co-authored Encinitas Environmental Policy. He is a BPI Building Analysis Professional, Envelop Professional, Accredited Contractor,Build it Green CGBP and GreenPoint Rater, CHEERS HERS rater and an Existing Home Rater. Murray, Director of Investment BankingDon is the Director of the Investment Banking Group. His background includes fifteen years of experience providing corporate finance advisory services, including private placements, mergers & acquisitions, PIPEs, reverse mergers/alternative public offerings, structured finance, portfolio investments, strategic consulting and IPOs for companies based in the U.S., China, Russia and Europe. Prior to joining Greener Dawn, Don served as Vice President with the Investment banking divisions of Global Hunter Securities and Pacific Ridge Capital where he executed equity and debt placements, PIPEs, reverse mergers, and advisory services for companies in the alternative energy, technology and health care sectors. Prior to that, Don was an Associate in the Investment Banking Group of OffRoad Capital, where he was responsible for executing private placements for early stage technology companies. Prior to OffRoad Capital, Don worked in Europe as a Portfolio Manager for KWFM AG (a consortium anchored by Lazard Freres & Cie), the fund manager of a publicly traded European Investment Fund, providing debt and equity funding for growth, acquisitions and recapitalizations. Prior to entering the field of finance, Don served as an Intelligence Analyst in the U.S. Air Force. Don received an MBA in Finance and International Business from The Ohio State University and a BA in Management Studies from the University of Maryland. Jesse Chang, AnalystJesse Chang is an Analyst with the Greener Dawn Investment Banking Group. As a member of the Investment Banking Group, Jesse prepares and aides in the development of financial models, investor presentations, company analysis and deal execution. Prior to joining Greener Dawn, Jesse served as an Analyst with the investment banking group at Global Hunter Securities. During his tenure there, he gained diverse transaction experience working on a variety of deals such as PIPEs, Registered Offerings, Mergers & Acquisitions, Leveraged Finance, Reverses Mergers and US-China, Cross-Border transactions. For the past two years, George has covered the renewable energy and clean tech sectors, first for B. Stephen Quirk, Senior Research AnalystSteve's responsibilities include research coverage across the renewable energy sector including solar, wind, geothermal, biofuels, smart grid technology and energy efficiency. Steve has ten years of investment experience. He started his career in the Investment Banking division of Morgan Stanley in New York covering chemical and industrial companies, including DuPont, Dow and Schlumberger. He left New York to head up research at Alder Capital, a small-cap based hedge fund in San Diego, where he focused on both traditional and alternative energy. In his six years at Alder Capital, the firm grew to approximately $100 million in assets under management with compound annual returns of just under 20%.
